The caliper uses a dual-piston system, allowing both brake pads to move toward the rotor for balanced braking force and smooth modulation. Tektro’s HD-R290 uses mineral oil and features an ergonomic 3-finger brake lever. Tektro documentation identifies the HD-R290 as a flat-mount hydraulic system and lists the F10BS pad as the standard brake pad.

Important Compatibility Note

This is a flat-mount brake system. Please check your bicycle's fork/frame brake mounting standard before ordering. Rotor is NOT included unless specifically shown or stated in the selected listing option.

Professional installation is recommended. If the hydraulic hose needs to be shortened, the system should be properly cut, reconnected, and bled by someone familiar with hydraulic bicycle brakes.
